The maximum loan amount is ISK 44 million.

The loan ratio can be up to 80% of the purchase price or market price of an apartment.

It is possible to mix loan types.  For example, you can take out an indexed basic loan with an interest rate adjustment of up to 70% collateral and then an additional unsecured loan with an interest rate adjustment of up to 80% collateral. 

If an application is made for a third party on the basis of a power of attorney, the power of attorney must clearly state what authority is being delegated.. It must be dated and attested by two witnesses.  The original of the power of attorney or a certified copy of a registered power of attorney is requested. If the buyer or seller is not of legal age, the power of attorney must be approved by the supervisory authority.
